Wayne Rooney made it 20 goals in as many games as Manchester United beat Aston Villa to retain the Carling Cup.
In the 4th min , Vidic brought down Agbonlahor and Villa got the spot-kick. Vidic was lucky enough not to be booked for his offence . Milner converted the penalty .
Exactly on the mark of 12th min Owen's shot cross the goal line to equalize the scoreline . It was the coolest of the finishes , even though much things are said and written about his recent form.
At the end of the first half J.S.Park's shot hit the near post.
Milner and Carrick forced their opposite goalkeepers to dive for a save .
In the 74th min , Valencia made lovely run on the right edge of the box , before making an effective "one-two" with Berbatov and produced a decent cross to Rooney , who headed it home perfectly to complete his 28th goal of the season in all competition.
4 mins later , Valencia-Rooney combination worked perfectly as it did for Ronaldo-Rooney . Valencia produced a better cross than the first time , but this time Rooney was only able to hit the bar.
Manchester United Retained their Carling Cup Title.
Valencia got the Man-of-the-Match for his great performance.

MANCHESTER UNITED:
United will go to top of the table having played one and two more matches more than Arsenal and Chelsea respectively. On the other end Hull will sink to the casualty list .
In the 8th min , Schole's pile driver shot was parried away by the Hull goal keeper , but Rooney was the first person to reach the rebounded ball and scored the first goal of the match.
Rooney's free-kick missed the pole by whisker. Just few mins remaining in the first half United made great movement and passing near the edge of the box and Nani put Owen in a good position to score from , but Owen hesitated and made no trouble to the keeper.
In the 72nd min , Hull had almost scored . In the 82nd min , Nani's free-kick hit the cross bar , Rooney kept the ball in play . This created an opportunity to Rooney who drilled his foot through as hard as he can and scored the second goal of the match .
Just 4 mins later , Nani produced a stunning cross into the box and Rooney scored an easy header to mark his second HAT-TRICK of the season.
Rooney was not finished yet , in the 93rd min , Berbatov produced good pass and Rooney was up with 2 defenders . Rooney slipped as every one thought he has missed a chance , but he scored his fourth goal of the match .
With this goal Rooney moved to to the top of the goal scorers list with 20 goals in bag.

Manchester United has to overcome their nightmare of 1-0 loss against Burnley , as Burnley travelled to Old Trafford with the new manager. Burnley has not got a single point on this pitch for more than half a century .
Very early in the game Burnley's striker Fletcher has one-on-one chance , which he placed it wide.
On the other end ,Valencia was as lively as ever and United were continuously knocking the door for their first goal , but somehow Jensen succeeded to keep United strikers at bay in the first half.
Just after the start of second half , Berbatov did some fantastic acrobatic skill before hitting the ball to the post with his left foot .
In the 63rd min , Berbatov finally succeeded in breaking the deadlock. Rooney's pass , placed Berbatov in a very good position , from where Berbatov buried the ball beyond Jensen's reach with his left-foot.
Five mins later , United attack seemed sharp and Rooney took his time in the box before scoring his 16th goal of the season.
Mame-Biram-Diouf is always being compared to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer , because of the fact that both these players are bought from the same Norwegian club. Unlike Solskjaer , who took just 8 min in his home debut to score a goal , Diouf took Little more than that as he scored his FIRST and third goal of the match in the 90th min , with his header after receiving a well-measured , long-aerial pass from Valencia.
Even though one free-kick tested van Der Sar who was up to the challenge , Burnley failed to get the consolation goal.

Chelsea ran riot in London as they thrashed Sunderland to a staggering 7-2 defeat.
Anelka scored twice .
A.Cole scored a superb goal.
Lampard hit the net twice .
Malouda and Ballack scored a goal each.
Zenden and Bent scored for Sunderland.
Final score was Chelsea 7-2 Sunderland.....
Liverpool conceded a late late goal as they continued their miserable run and ended up with one point in the pocket. Just after the equaliser , Kuyt's superb header hit the post and match ended up Stoke city 1-1 Liverpool .
Everton started the game as they had left last week against Arsenal as they beat confident Manchester City of Roberto Macini .
Pienaar and Fellaini were outstanding as they kept good pressure on the City players throughout the match . Pienaar continued his good form as he scored a good free-kick and later Saha scored from the spot to ensure three points for the Merseyside Blues.
Final score was Everton 2-0 Manchester City.....

Match Day 9th and 11th Jan
As 7 out of the 10 matches were "iced-off" in England , there were only matches between Birmingham Vs Manchester United , Arsenal Vs Everton and Manchester City Vs BlackBurn Rovers.
In the First of the three matches of the week , at Emirates Everton's Osman scored in the 12th min to give the visitors an early lead over the gunners.But in the 28th min , Denilson's shot took a deflection and left USA goal-keeper Howard helpless .
In the 81st min , Australian international Cahill linked-up with Pienaar who chipped the ball over Almunia , which showed the silhouette of three points for Everton Manager.
But in the 93rd min , Diaby dribbled the ball near the edge of the box before passing the ball to Rosicky , whose shot took a wicked deflection of the Everton Defender Neill and their silhouette of three points evaporated.
Final score was Arsenal 2-2 Everton.....
Birmingham City has become hard nutshell for the other clubs as they have not lost from last 8 matches winning 6 of them . Champions visited Birmingham in hope to go over Chelsea to top the table at least for one week.
United kept the major portion of the possession from the start of the game. Valencia Produced a lovely pass to Rooney who controlled it beautifully with great first-touch and his second touch forced a great save from Birmingham keeper Hart.
In the 39th min , Jerome scored with the help of a corner-kick to take the lead over the champions.
In the 63rd min , Evra's cross ended in the back of the net with Birmingham's Dann's last touch to equalise the score-line.
After that Birmingham kept good pressure on the visitors and forced couple of saves from Kuszczak .
In the 84th min , Fletcher was sent-off for the second bookable offence .

While their city rivals are having rough time , Manchester City rode on a high-wave called Tevez - who scored his 12th league goal of the season by registering his first hat-trick for the club.
As result of this win City climbed to the fourth spot in the table.
