MANCHESTER UNITED:

United had it easy over Pompey's from years , except the 2008 FA cup semifinal. Pompey are struggling to cope up with the top division class so far this season . United on the other hand , having beaten Everton last week were obviously feeling confident.

In the 23rd min , Rooney was brought down by Portsmouth defender in the box which resulted in a penalty for the visitors. Rooney didn't fail to score from the spot .



In the 31st min, Vidic pulled the shirt of the Portsmouth striker which resulted in a spot kick for the home team and Portsmouth levelled the score 1-1.

Early in the second half , in the 48th min , Giggs controlled the aerial ball from Scholes , before producing a beautiful pass to Rooney , who buried the ball beyond the goal-keeper.



In the 53rd min , Giggs was brought down in the box , which provided an easy chance for Rooney to complete his HAT-TRICK . United mounted 2 goal lead on the home side just 8 mins after the start of second half .

Giggs shot was blocked by the Pompey goal keeper . United goal keeper was also forced to save the shot which was on target.

In the 87 min , Giggs showed his class by converting a free-kick to increase the lead over the home side. Giggs once again proved he can still produce beautiful game football on the pitch.

Chelsea maintained their five point lead over the champions Manchester united , with soul-crushing performance over Arsenal.

In the 41st min , England Duo , A.cole and Lampard's combined effort resulted in a goal in the form of Drogba.

Mins later A.Cole's cross found the net for the second time , but this time it came-off a non-Chelsea player. in an attempt to clear the ball Vermaelen ended-up in scoring an own goal.



In the 86th min , Drogba's free-kick gave Chelsea a 3 goal cushion over their city rivals. It was a good strike .
