Weekend review 9-10th May

MANCHESTER UNITED:


Manchester United hosted their city rivals Manchester city this Sunday in Manchester derby.Having won the first derby match(0-1) , United are ready to take their revenge for last seasons home defeat.
Tevez started the match in place of Rooney.That was a big news for his fans after the rumours of Tevez leaving the club in the summer.
In the 18th min Berbatov was fouled by Ireland ,but TV replays suggested that he won the ball clearly. Ronaldo took the free-kick from around 30 yards which was small by the world player of the year's recent standards. And he duly strode up with confidence and fired into the corner, Given wrong-footed by the merest flick off Nigel de Jong.



Tevez
tried his luck from an almost impossible angle which hit the bar.
In the 45 th min Fletcher's long ball was neatly controlled by Berbatov. His square pass found Tevez, whose precision shot bounced in off the post. United extended their lead to 2-0 over City.

Rubhino had chance in the second half with Elano's deft right-wing cross, which he blazed it wide.
Later Tevez had chance after the corner kick from Giggs was deflected by Fletcher to him. Tevez could only managed to hit the far post.
United need four more points to lift the trophy for the third season in a row.

Final score was Manchester United 2-0 Manchester City.....


LIVERPOOL:
Liverpool travelled to Upton park this Saturday. Liverpool are feeling confident after the return of their captain but missed the prominent midfielder Alonso after the last match injury.
Liverpool's hopes this season have been built on the firepower of Fernando Torres and Gerrard - and the pair combined after 76 seconds for the opener.Torres produced an excellent pass to Gerrard who was played on side by the West Ham defender Kovac . Gerrard scored the opening goal for Liverpool.

In the 38th min Torres was brought down by Ilunga which resulted in a penalty. Gerrard took the Penalty, missed it for the first time and scored in the second attempt to give the reds 2 goals lead in the first half away from home.

Mins later Carragher left the ball in the mercy of the Hammers striker Di Michele, who slipped in the box not being able to control the ball for which he was booked.
Dutch international Babel scored in the 84th min which secured three points away from home.
Kuyt crossed for his fellow Dutchman, Green saved the initial header but the rebound was tapped home.


Final score was West Ham 0-3 Liverpool.....

ARSENAL Vs CHELSEA:

Both Arsenal and Chelsea are trying to forget their champions league semifinal defeat in the hands of Manchester United and Chelsea respectively met on Sunday in London derby.
Arsenal started brightly with lots of chances . Walcott was put in down the right side of the penalty area by Nasri, but Cech stood up well at his near post.Later Daiby's low cross gave Walcott a chance to score. He tried to chip it over Cech but chipped it wide.
In the 28th min Fabregas made a bad challenge on Drogba, which resulted in a free-kick and booking for Arsenal captain. Drogba took the free-kick brilliantly and Alex who was waiting in the box headed the ball beyond the goal keeper Fabianski.

In the 39 th min Anelka produced a stunning shot from outside the box which swung away from Fabianski before touching the nets. Chelsea had a comfortable lead of 2 goals in the first half.

In the 49 th min A.Cole's cross from the left was put past Fabianski by the outstretched boot of Toure. This self-destructive goal put the match beyond Arsenal's reach.

In the 70 th min Sagna's cross found Bendtner who headed it home to make the score line 1-3.
In the 86th min Fabainski saved Malouda's first attempt which gave Anelka a chance to score his second goal of the match .But his shot hit the bar and resulted in an easy chance to Malouda who was actually off-side , but lines men failed to notice that.


Final score was Arsenal 1-4 Chelsea.....
